How we hire at Liberate.
No black boxes. This is your guide to exactly how we hire stage by stage, role by role so you can prepare with confidence and show up as your best self.
Our promise on timing: we read every application within 3 business days, and after your final interview you’ll hear back within 2 a clear yes, no, or a specific why. Silence isn’t an answer, and we don’t do it.
Agent Product Manager
You’ll shape how our AI agents show up for real customers in real moments — so we take hiring for this seriously. Here’s how we’ll get to know each other: five conversations, roughly three weeks end to end.
At a glance
- Application review — read by a person
- Recruiter screen — 30 min, phone
- Product & engineering judgment — 30 min, live
- Executive communication & customer judgment — 45 min, short prep + role-play
- Final conversation — 30 min, live
- References, then an offer — when it’s a match on both sides
Step 1 — Application Review
A real person reads every single application — no keyword filter, no black hole. If it looks like there’s a fit, we’ll reach out about next steps. And if the timing isn’t right, we’ll still tell you. Either way, you won’t be left wondering.
Step 2 — Recruiter Screen
30 minutes · phone
A conversation about your story so far - the work you’ve owned, what you’re proud of, and what’s pulling you toward Liberate. We’ll leave plenty of room for your questions, and cover the practical things together, like the role and timeline.
Step 3 — Product & Engineering Judgment
30 minutes · live conversation
A real product trade-off, talked through together - the kind where speed, scale, and customer needs all pull in different directions. There’s no secret “right” answer, and no answer key. We just want to see how you think: how you sit with ambiguity, ask the sharp questions, and land on a recommendation you can stand behind.
Step 4 — Executive Communication & Customer Judgment
45 minutes · short prep document, then a live role-play
A few minutes before we start, you’ll get a short prep document. Then you’ll walk through a realistic, high-stakes conversation with a simulated customer executive about a product launch - including the follow-up questions that test your thinking under pressure. We’re paying attention to how clearly you communicate, how you translate technical complexity for a business audience, and how you make a confident recommendation with incomplete information.
Step 5 — Final Conversation
30 minutes · live conversation
A broader conversation with a senior team member from outside your interview loop, about your career trajectory, how you approach hard problems, and the experiences that shaped how you work today.
Step 6 — References
We’ll ask for a few people who can speak to your work and how you operate.
Step 7 — Offer
If it’s a match on both sides, we move quickly to get an offer into your hands.
How to prepare
- Pick a couple of products or features you’ve actually shipped, and be ready to walk us through the messy middle - the trade-offs you and your engineers wrestled with.
- Think of a time you made something technical genuinely make sense to a senior, non-technical stakeholder.
- Come ready to talk openly about your path — what’s clicked, what you’ve learned the hard way, and where you want to grow next.
